Austin City Life

Music is a universal language. Virtually every known people group no matter how primitive or isolated, create music for their culture and for their gods. There is a unifying nature to music that is undeniable. Music in its nature is a reflection of our tri-une God (Father, Son, Holy Spirit, three-in-one). Like the Trinity, in music many things fill the same space... at the same time: melody, harmony, tempo, rhythm, lyric, rhyme, & story. God has given us this reflective gift not as an end in itself, but ultimately to give it back to him in worship. Worship is a continuous outpouring of all that we are. Everyone worships something and worship is not exclusive to music, though music is a wonderfully expressive form of our affection to Christ.
