Elders and Deacons

Austin City Life is led by biblically qualified elders, staff, and deacons. As a new church, we are in the process of cultivating all types of leaders with the goal of being led by a plurality of elders. Currently, we are led by a Leadership Team that is held accountable by an independent Advisory Board.

 

Leadership Team

 

Jonathan Dodson is the lead pastor of Austin City Life and is married to Robie, father to Owen and Ellie. Jonathan graduated from college with a B.A. in Anthropology and earned two masters degrees at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, one in Divinity (M.Div) and another in Biblical Theology (Th.M). Among other things, he enjoys smoking his pipe, chewing on a good piece of theology, and listening to M. Ward.

 

 

Nate Navarro is Director of Missional Community and is married to Melissa, father to Jessica and Ava. After spending ten years in rock band WideAwake, Nate experienced a radical renewal of faith which, in turn, led him into full-time ministry and worship leading. His first album is Broken Becomes Beautiful. Nate enjoys Thunderbird Coffee, UT football, listening to Pete Yorn, and can often be heard saying: "Love God, Love People, DON'T GO ALONE!"

 

Miranda Dodson (not Jonathan's wife) helps lead Austin City Life in worship and all things administration. Miranda is married to Luke Dodson (yes, Jonathan's brother). Miranda has years of experience in leading worship and her vocals are often compared to Patti Griffin. Check out her music here. She likes listening to Patti and mowing the lawn.

 

 

 

Justin Hroch is a missional intern for Austin CIty Life with a primary focus on college City Groups. Justin graduated from Texas State University-San Marcos with a B.A. in Business Administration majoring in Finance and went to work for Campus Crusade for Christ. In June of 2009 Justin joined the team at Austin City Life. He enjoys a good cup of coffee, outside, Dave Matthews Band, and reading.

 

 

Sam(antha) Gibson is the Children's Director for Austin City Life. New to Austin, Sam moved here from her hometown of Charleston, SC to pursue her master's degree in early childhood education at UT. With 5 years of experience as a preschool director, she is passionate about working with families to show God's love to the littlest members of ACL! Sam loves all things live music (especially U2), is addicted to international traveling, and can usually be found wandering through IKEA.
