ACL PARTNER TARA IS IN HAITI

This post by Justin Hroch who also blogs HERE.

Last Sunday we commissioned our own Tara Jamieson, an Austin RN, to serve in Haiti with a medical team composed of doctors and nurses from across the US. It was a simple, sweet reminder that God was allowing our small community to carry the gospel to those in need. Her City Group joined her up front and as the body of Christ we prayed for God’s provision over her trip and praised him for his promised goodness in all things.

This opportunity unfolded over the course of around six days. On Thursday, Tara received an email informing her that she was on the team that might be traveling to Haiti and she would need to raise around $2000 dollars in the next four days to get there. By the end of Sunday, her total cost of the trip was covered!

How did this happen? Tara’s City Group rallied around her and helped her raise the money she needed. Not only that but they invited their whole neighborhood to take part in sending Tara. It was a simply act of gospel-centered community. A need was realized and a need was met through the sacrifice of believers and unbelivers!

Our communication with the team will be very limited, if at all. From what we know, the team will be working in a hospital. They will be limited in resources such as food, water, and medical supplies.  We ask that you join with us in pray for this team while they are serving in Haiti. Here are a few things we are ask God for:

  • Safety and protection for the team
  • Endurance, both emotional and physical
  • That they would be a comfort and peace to the Haitian people
  • That the gospel would be made known

Thanks for praying with us and we will keep you updated if we hear any news from the team!
